The Museum of Nature at the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University is preparing to open new exhibits. Specifically, visitors will soon be able to see a hall dedicated to amphibians and reptiles, which will feature the Kharkiv viper, named after Professor Nikolsky, who was the head of the museum. According to Alexander Zinenko, a leading researcher at the museum, the species of viper was described by museum staff.
Meanwhile, the museum is preparing the geological departments, which were damaged by Russian shelling, for opening. According to Zinenko, all collections and exhibits were completely preserved thanks to the efforts of the staff. Currently, work is underway to restore the building, which will require time and resources.
In addition, the museum's collection is being expanded with new exhibits, including a crocodile and a rare species of peacock. The flow of visitors remains stable, and the museum has prepared for potential power outages and attacks on infrastructure during the winter, ensuring it has heaters and generators.
