An underground hospital is being built in Bliznuk, in the Kharkiv region, based on a local healthcare facility. The progress of the work was inspected by Oleg Syniegubov, the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

The underground section will include operating rooms, wards, and a rehabilitation zone, including for children. The hospital will have an 85-bed surgical department. The total area of the shelter is almost 2000 square meters and is designed to accommodate 650 people simultaneously. Later, the underground section will be connected to the existing building with a passage.

The project aims for accessibility: the hospital will have elevators, lifts, tactile paving, and Braille signage. Autonomy will be ensured by a modular boiler room, solar panels, powerful generators, and a well.

The Kharkiv Regional State Administration is cooperating with the Government, the Ministry of Health, and the community to equip the facility with modern equipment.
