SOUs are advancing eastward from Borova – ISW

According to a report by the Institute for the Study of War, Ukrainian forces have made gains in the south-east of Borova in the Kharkiv region. The report also notes logistical problems for Russian troops in the Kupyansk direction, where they are forced to cover significant distances on foot due to attacks by Ukrainian drones.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that Ukrainian forces have advanced eastward from Borodyanka in the Kharkiv region. According to analysts, on October 19, Ukrainian military observer, Kostyantin Mashovec, reported Ukrainian units advancing towards Makiivka. In addition, one of the Russian "military correspondents" published a map that confirms the advance of Ukrainian forces northwest of Makiivka.

ISW also reports logistical problems for Russian occupying forces in the Kupiansk direction. A deputy commander of one of the Ukrainian battalions operating in this area reported that Russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups have to walk between 15 and 20 kilometers to reach the front line. This is a result of sustained attacks by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles on Russian logistics in this area.

The ISW analysts note that there has been no confirmed advance of Russian troops in the Kharkiv region.
