In Kharkiv region, a pilot "train + bus" service will operate on the front-line sections to Sumy and Lozova starting October 1
Starting October 1, "Ukrzaliznytsia" and the regional military administrations are launching a pilot "train + bus" service on the front-line routes in the Kharkiv region to Sumy and Lozova. If the train cannot arrive or depart due to shelling, passengers will be transported by buses; the price and availability of tickets will not change, but the security situation may change daily.
The security situation on the front-line territories can change daily, so a pilot combined transport project "train + bus" will start in Kharkiv region on October 1. It is being implemented by "Ukrzaliznytsia" and the regional military administrations on specific front-line routes leading to Sumy and Lozova.
In case a train route cannot arrive in Sumy or Lozova, or depart from there due to the threat of shelling, the company will organize transportation by buses. The movement of trains and buses will be coordinated: during delays, transport will wait for passengers to facilitate the transfer. Shelling threats will be monitored by "Ukrzaliznytsia" monitoring centers.
Tickets for the specified routes, with transfers, are already available to purchase in the "Ukrzaliznytsia" application for the upcoming dates. The price of a ticket for the full route and the possibility of purchasing it for passengers remain the same.
Thanks to this scheme, residents of frontline communities who travel by train will have a way to return home, visit relatives, or travel to safer regions.
