Fishing ban introduced in wintering grounds in Kharkiv region

A ban on fishing in wintering grounds has been introduced in the Kharkiv region from November 1st. The restrictions will last until the start of the spring-summer spawning period, according to the Kharkiv Fisheries Patrol.

The ban has been introduced to protect fish stocks in areas where they congregate in large numbers during the cold season. During this period, fish gather in the deepest parts of the water bodies and become less active.

Fishing is allowed outside of wintering grounds and in accordance with the established rules. In particular, the total number of hooks should not exceed 7 per angler.

Violations of the ban are subject to administrative or criminal liability, as well as compensation for damages.
